One reason Mt. San Antonio College is known as the College of Champions is its outstanding faculty. To foster our longstanding tradition of educational excellence, we have established two programs that recognize both instructional distinction and professional development.
- Chairs of Excellence—This program allows donors to create a faculty chair annually through a $100,000 endowed fund, named for its primary individual or corporate benefactor. A chair might also be established with a contribution of $50,000 that could be matched by a public or private grant. A Mt. SAC professor receives a monetary gift and bears the distinctive title designated for the chair, which can be named in honor or memory of a loved one or friend of the donor, a faculty member, retiree or other individual. The faculty selection process is determined by the College.
- Faculty Development Award—This monetary award serves as an incentive for faculty members to stay on the cutting edge of their disciplines for career development and to foster innovative teaching. Two faculty members will be selected annually to receive $5,000 to support this career development opportunity. Recipients will be selected by College administration, faculty colleagues, and the Foundation.
