As community colleges face significant
cuts in funding from the State of California, the Mt. SAC Foundation Board of
Directors has made a renewed and significant commitment to raise $5 Million over
the next three years. The money will be used in four areas:
- General College Support
- Student support
- Academic support
- Equipment and Facilities support
College Support. Each year the Mt. SAC Foundation
supports the College in many ways. This designation for your gift allows the
most general support of all campus projects and student scholarships.
Student
Support. Your contribution will assist Mt. SAC students with scholarships
(fees, books, general cost of attending Mt. SAC). In particular, we must raise
$1.3 Million to match the Bernard T. Osher gift of $634,000 in order to receive
an additional $634,000 in matching funds. Your investment in the Osher Scholars
project will be matched by $.50 cents on every dollar you contribute.
Academic Support. Each year the Mt. SAC Foundation
funds several campus projects that enrich and support the overall college learning
environment. The support ranges from brining well-known speakers to campus for
the “Lyceum Revisited” program,
to funding travel for our international award winning music program competition,
to supporting faculty and students in attending programs such as the recent Far
Western Section of the Geosciences Teachers conference, to professional development
and awards for Mt. SAC faculty. You may designate a specific campus project or
Division for your gift. Call Foundation Executive Director Richard Morley at
909.594.5611, ext. 5438 to discuss your specific gift.
Equipment and Facilities. The Foundation assists the College in supporting equipment purchases such as
the new, state-of-the-art Randall Planetarium Zeiss Skymaster projector. The
Foundation has embarked on an ambitious campaign for a meeting/conference/historical
recognition facility, Heritage Hall. Click
